Alvaro Sarasua


Álvaro is a PhD candidate in the Music Technology Group (MTG) in Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). He holds a BS in telecommunications from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a MSc in Sound and Music Computing from UPF. His current research focuses on the analysis of music-related movement with the aim to build more intuitive and expressive interfaces drawing upon a conductor-orchestra metaphor. He is also a lecturer in Elisava (Barcelona School of Design and Engineering), co-organizer of the Barcelona Music Hack Day and a musician involved in different projects, including the Barcelona Laptop Orchestra and the Galata Electroacustic Orchestra.
