‘Creative Computing for Digital Media & Mobile Apps’ is the first MOOC to be launched in England, taught by Dr Mick Grierson, Dr Marco Gillies and Dr Matthew Yee-King, Lecturers in the Department of Computing at Goldsmiths, University of London. It features a range of brand new EAVI software for real-time, cross platform audio and graphics across browsers and mobile platforms, available here.

The course launched officially on Monday 10 June, and we have had over 90,000 students enrol. The new course mirrors the innovative teaching from the BSc (Hons) in Creative Computing. The online platform allows us to share our teaching experience with participants all over the world.

The online course is six-weeks and it is free to enrol. It includes lessons, content and activities for anyone who would like to apply their technical skills to creative work ranging from video games to art installations to interactive music, and also for creatives who would like to use programming in their work.

Professor Sir Adrian Smith, Vice-Chancellor of the University of London, said: “Launching our short courses on Coursera is an exciting time for both us as a leading university and for higher education across the world.”
